Yes, you are paid for your participation in a study as compensation for your time and travel expenses. Generally, the amount of payment depends upon how much time is required of you to complete the study. Payment is typically provided at the end of each completed study visit.

The amount of each payment and when you receive them are very clearly described in the informed consent form that you sign on your first visit.

If you completed a screening visit, but did not qualify for the study, you will be compensated for the screening visit at the stipend rate for that particular study.

All procedures associated with the study, such as physicals, EKG’s, X-Ray’s, blood work, etc., are provided free of charge.
