Getting involved - Participating in a clinical trial can be very rewarding. We encourage you to discuss your intent to participate in a clinical trial with your doctor. Should you choose to participate in a study and you meet the initial eligibility requirements, the next step will involve coming to the study center for a screening visit. The purpose of the screening visit is to inform you of the study details and to further evaluate whether you meet the eligibility requirements. During the screening visit, you will go through the informed consent process,  which will inform you about the study and what is required of you should you choose to participate. At this time you will have every opportunity to ask questions about the study and to discuss any concerns with the study coordinator. A medical exam and certain laboratory tests may also be performed at the screening visit.

Safety - Participating in a clinical trial may involve varying degrees of risk. The amount of risk associated with a clinical trial depends on many factors, including the medication that is being evaluated as well as personal medical history. Throughout the clinical trial, the informed consent process is designed to fully disclose any known or potential risks that could occur as a result of your participation in the study.

Privacy - MassResearch will not use, sell or display any personal information about you without your permission. Personal health information, including data that is collected while enrolled in a study, is protected by HIPPA. These protections are outlined in the consent form you received when you joined the study. If you have any questions, please contact Steve Schroder at MassResearch 781-647-7200 or sschroder@massresearch.com in complete confidence. View our privacy practices Here.

Complaints - If you have any issues or concerns about your treatment while participating in a clinical trial, please speak with the Principal Investigator and/or your study Coordinator. If you are not satisfied or the issue is still not resolved, please contact Steve Schroder at MassResearch 781-647-7200 or sschroder@massresearch.com. If you require further assistance, please contact the Institutional Review Board (IRB) listed on the consent form you received when you joined the study. The IRB is a separate organization, independent from the sponsor and the research center, and is there to help you.
